X60 tablet Predesktop is 100gig! of my 150gig drive

#1 Post by hawaiitex » Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:36 pm

Bought x60 used with 150gig drive. Amazed to see 100gig dedicated within Predesktop, leaving me 50 for Windows 7 and pagefiles, etc. How can I shift some of the surplus to enlarge C:? What is the ideal predesktop size? P.S. LOVE my "new" x60

Most likely there's a Backup program on the laptop, which is using all that wasted space.
If I were you, I would wipe the whole disk and install from scratch. You never know what junk/bloatware/spyware the previous owner has left on it!
If you are lucky, you may be able to create a set of recovery discs.
From your Thinkvantage software list under Start/Programs/Thinkvantage/Create Recovery Media, and select Recovery Discs option.
If the option is no longer there (available only once), someone else burned those discs before you.
Most predesktop sizes are less than 10GB.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
