thanks nex86! This registry fix on top of win11 Synaptics drivers indeed fixes also the touchpad buttons. I'm running build 22471 insider preview.

Re: Windows 11 Compatibility.
Windows 11 installs without issues on T60 with C2D 7200 processor. Install stick was W10 stick with modified W11 install.esd file. Very slow as I used 40GB spinning drive. Ah, touchpad buttons did not work but I used a mouse. Not planning to use but just wanted to try it. Writing this from T440p wit...

Re: T440/p CLUNKPAD: Pics and installation of T450 Synaptics and Alps Touchpad+buttons Driver
Just installed Windows 11 Pro insider preview on T440P with Synaptics. Simple install as it is not yet requiring TPM 2.0. Positive surprise is that touchpad and buttons are working without any additional driver. Gestures are not available but perhaps I try W10 drivers if I leave this on my laptop. N...

Re: Cannot get an OS to install, T500
Sounds like an over heating issue. I have a T60 which very easily overheats with windows and freezes or shuts down. Linux runs without issues. Try changing the bios settings; use battery optimized also for AC or something similar setting. Try installing in cooler place. If this helps fix the cooling.

Thanks for the help! WWAN slot - it's new information for me. As I understood, this port is inside notebook, and I'm not sure may I open its myself. What if this port already busy? Check if boot is set UEFI mode, legacy BIOS or compatibility mode. If it is UEFi then it does not boot without proper UEFI install?

Tx20 and Tx30 non s and s cannot use DDR3L. Use DDR3 with 2Rx8 (16 chips per module) and brand names/major makers in order to have successful 16GB operation. I'm really tired of people here not aware these notebooks have not went on to newer DDR3L yet till T4x0 series. It's the memories which are b...

Re: How to Have 16GB RAM on T420s?
I have Kingston HyperX Impact Black 16 Gt KIT (2 x 8 Gt) 1866 MHz DDR3L-SODIMM CL11 on my T420. This together with modified bios and SSD is a nice combination. However, I don't know if there is similar bios for the s-model that can use the memory with full speed.

Install on the way. Lets see how it goes. This T60 is C2D7200 with Intel graphics and 2*2GB memory. I'm following this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html I already had 10.6.8 installed so starting is easy. Using 32GB USB stick. Your should first try the advanced boot options, press F8 and select safe mode. If you get in you can delete the password. This works if the adminstrator password has not been set, which is usually the case..

Where did you find help to put the DVD image onto a partition from ubuntu? There was no step to step instructions. I believe this is what I did 1. prepare a drive with a few HSF partitions (or HSF+ not sure) with Gparted I think. 2. mounting of the HSF partition with write access is needed. This ma...

If iboot only recognizes optical disk, you can do as I did (on this thread): The install DVD was scratched or something else and I ended using image file which I was able to write to HFS+ partitioned hard disk with Ubuntu. Chimera as a boot loader can read the dmg (or was it ISO package, I'm not tot...

Re: Shared video memory
The only way to tweak T60 bios is to change the bios. I've been following couple of projects every now and then. This is one of them: http://www.coreboot.org/Supported_Motherboards
As you can see T60 is listed but this is far from easy or riskless.

Did you upgrade to SSD? SSD drives in Finland are still fairly expensive compared to US and for the time beeing the T7200 with reasonable HD is more or less fast enough.
