Hi,

I just saw this as I have given up on the project and had forgotten about the thread actually.

I have no idea as I never was even close to getting the machine to recognize it.

Sorry I can't help,

Re: T23 IDE SSD - Recommendations?

When i will get the T61, this will be my thinkpad for using win7 and some good graphical progams. Anyhing more i won't need because anything else i create with me own hands out of lot of different substances. You might want to make sure the drivers are available for the laptop before putting Window...

Re: T23 FrankenDrive

Hi guys, Sorry for not being around in a while. I had health issues come up that caused me to cut out everything that wasn't needed for day to day survival so I could pay the bills that came with them. I never did get the eBay card to work, even in the hard drive caddy for the ultra bay. The bios ne...

Re: Linux users?

PMFJI. I have a T30 that I would like to run with OpenBSD. I have memory address conflicts, probably at 0x5000000 and 0x51000000. The same symptoms are on Ubuntu 10 and 11, OpenBSD 4.9 and 5.0. Do you know how you tell the BIOS to pass this info along or do you have a boot.conf that does the trick ...

Re: ADVICE ON SELLING T30

Going to have to dig around and see if I can find that XP Pro backup CD or figure something else out. If you can't find the CD, I would personally wipe it and install Linux. You're wanting to sell the machine and you can download Linux for free. With Linux, you can state that it has an operational ...

Re: T23 FrankenDrive

Do you have an original XP disk you can do the install from? Dr. Watson may be getting it's signals crossed. I now have a 4 gig card thanks to another member here and as soon as the adapter makes the trip here on the slow boat from China, I'll be starting my expiraments and will be using the XP cd t...

Re: [Help] Please judge laptop conditions -- with pic links

My honest opinion from what I can see in the pictures is that the laptop is in the Used - Fair Condition category. There is NO WAY that is a New - Unused condition laptop! Like was said above, you need to contact eBay now, don't wait for the seller to string you along until it's too late to do anyth...

Re: T23 FrankenDrive

Would it be possible to install the Mini Flash Mem card adapter by modifying a HD caddy? That would depend on which adapter you get. Both styles of adapters that are currently available, the short stubby ones and the full length ones, will require some modifications to make it work with the factory...

Re: Mobile Phones - What's important to you?

Can I make a call and receive one... Is it smaller than a breadbox (actually, can I hold it comfortably and carry it comfortably)... That's me too. I don't use the internet on a phone and could care less for the various apps available for smartphones. I honestly could do without one as I don't care...

Re: Linux users?

I had Ubuntu 10 running on a T23 with a 40 gig hard drive and 512 ram. I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 11, but it says it will not run certain features because of the laptop not having the required components.

Both run smoothly on the T23 and are still fully supported.

I hope this helps,

Re: T23 FrankenDrive

Thank you for the replies! I had honestly forgotten about this thread as things have come up in my life that has caused me to put the T23s on a back burner for now. With that said, I'm still HIGHLY interested in the results of your experiences with using a card as a hard drive! I have a 40 gig hard ...

Robert,

Thank you for posting the links that I forgot, those are exactly the type of adapter I was looking at to use for the hard drive replacement.

T23 FrankenDrive

Has anyone tried using a SD Card and an adapter like those on eBay right now that say they can be used to replace a Hard Drive? I've searched the forum and have only found info on using a SATA SSD as a Hard Drive replacement. Two of the T23s in the lot that I recently purchased off of eBay do not ha...

New to the forum

I hope I'm not posting in the wrong place, I looked for an Introduction section but I couldn't find one. :??: I recently picked up a couple of IBM T23 Laptops as a Lot Auction from eBay and have had an older IBM NetVista computer for a while now. I found this forum while doing a web search on the Th...
