Re: Where can I download OEM Win7
You can download the ISO files from digital river with these links: http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/ Install Win7 without a key first. Since you are activating by SLIC 2.1, you can inject your Lenovo OEM certificate with a 'slmgr -ilc CERTIFICATEFILENAME....

Re: T61: How can I get the harddisk out and retrieve my data?
If you can make out the texts on screen, that means, nv card is OK. Only the CCFL goes wrong. You can try replacing a new CCFL by yourself. If you want to take the HD out, it's under your fingerprint scanner. Drive the screw on the bottom and you can get it out easily. Then use a USB->SATA cable to ...

Re: Which GPU is the improved type on T61?
Those photos could both be genuine replacement chips, or fakes, the only way to know for sure is if they came from a board refurbished by Lenovo or NOT. If Lenovo refurbished the board then you can be pretty sure they got the chip direct from nVidia, so it's good. If it's a 3rd party board, then yo...

Re: Another T61 upgrader?
I have upgraded the CPU to X9000(qualified sample), cost $91. It's so good to run the vmware. Just hotter than the previous CPU(T7100). But it can be solved by speeding up the fan speed.
CPU speed test by Super pi, 100W:
T7100: 45s
X9000: 15S (when frequency to 3.2G by ThrottleStop)

You can get a cheaper SSD because SATA II is not supported by T60.

Re: Experience with SSD on T61?
As for the brand, volume of SSD, I have no idea. But I'd like to remind you that you must use a crack BIOS to activate SATA II of T61. The official BIOS has block the STAT II. If you don't have this BIOS, you can send an email to me (brick43@126.com). I'm willing to share with you because I have jus...

Re: Strange Display Problem
Please connect an external LCD screen by the VGA port and check whether it happens again. If not happen, the problem of the lighting tube behind the laptop's LCD. If still happens, the problem of GPU.

Which GPU is the improved type on T61?
My T61 was bought in 2007. In the summer of 2008, NV GPU crashed after half an hour's Warcraft game. Then mainboard was replaced freely because it's still in warranty. The GPU is "01R", seems to be the improved type. But today I see a pic of a GPU which is also claimed to be the improved type. But i...

Re: T61 screen problem
So, your NV GPU must be good. It may be the problem of your LCD. Please test the LCD by Ntest.exe(a screen tester) and give me reply.
