Re: X61 tablet battery replacements?
Hello, I have just registered on the forum. I have three ThinkPad X61 Tablet laptops (two 7762 models and one 7763 model with a fingerprint sensor) for which I need to replace the batteries. The three batteries I have are listed under the following reference numbers: • ASM 42T5209 / FRU 93P5032 (Le...

where are these guides man? i have two old batteries a t500 and a x61 one that don't work - can i replace some cells and make them work again? The detailed guide on how to reprogram these differs by each controller chip found in each battery manufacturer. You need to determine the FRU and your batt...

Re: X61s Anniversary Edition / Reserve Edition
Meanwhile I managed to secure that Reserve Edition 8 cell battery, and managed to open mine up, recell it, and tested it fully working on a X61s. I've detailed it with loads of pics on a reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/1m722ei/i_took_my_newly_overhauled_x61s_to_coffee_with/ E...

Re: X60s - Recell Battery (Clone battery) *PICS*
I still have a lot of research to do and material to buy however (as you might already noticed), the battery isn't an original one. I search a bit but didn't find articles about replacing cells for clone batteries. If it's the same or different procedures. If anyone has articles or advises it's mor...

Re: X61s Anniversary Edition / Reserve Edition
I know the existance of these things, but I have never had the luck to come across one. I HAVE however, come across the ultra rare original 8 cell battery for these, with the flat bottom! I saw on a reddit post that these reserve edition X61s would only work with the non bottom protruding batteries,...

Thanks a lot - I am keen to learn more. By the way, did you find out how they lock-out the controller when battery is disconnected? Is there any chance to message me the programming notes (I cannot message you)? That depends on the specific battery controller. I know for the stock TI chips, like th...

Re: FS: Handmade ThinkPad T/X6x/4xx/5xx battery reprogram kit
I'm most interested in the 55+/55++/70+/70++ family of batteries, and the 27++/28++ family of batteries. They are used by a ton of models ({T,W,L,SL}{4,5}{1,2,3}0). While there are plenty of generic tutorials on how one should spot-weld the cells, the more tricky steps are severely undercovered: (1...

Hi me again, after using the x61t i noticed that the ram modules went back to 533 instead of the 711 that they where, i need to do the spd mod again or its a bios thing? From my experience, that wifi card connection must be very clean for the mod to work properly - Like when I tried bridging the tw...

Thank you a lot that worked, now its 2.1~2 on idlle and 45°C and its 2.4 and 70°C on stress Also, it is important to know that for L7500 equipped X61s/X61T, there are two FRU's for X61s/X61T heatsink (which are interchangable). T530 optical drive is just any 12.7mm SATA laptop optical drive inside some mounting brackets. You can also replace it with a blu-ray drive in exactly the same manner These SATA blu-ray drives on ebay are neither cheap nor overly expensive. But if you specifically search for a factory Ultrabay optio...

Re: X41 Tablet, New battery not charging
Well I replaced the CMOS battery and that didn't help. The battery I have is a 4 cell, not OEM. Has anybody had any luck opening one up and replacing the cells? Yours is 4 cell not OEM flat bottom one? If you open that up, I am very certain it's not 18650 - it's 103450 prismatic cells. You will NOT...

Re: X41 Tablet, New battery not charging
I know the CMOS battery is dead because I do have to enter the time and date any time I shut it off or unplug it. It runs fine and the AC adapter. I don't think it's an issue with the actual charging port because I also have a docking station and it doesn't charge when it's docked either. The batte...

I've got an old X41 Tablet that I'd like to give one of my kids but after buying a new battery and running it down, the battery will not charge. It runs fine on the AC adapter and I've tried 2 different adapters so I doubt if it's the adapter or charging port issue. I've removed the IBM power manag...

The FRU is: 93P5032. The cells are a dark burgundy red. And it does have a BQ8030 chip on the board. And I do have Arduino boards, but I can get a CP2112 pretty easily. So indeed, Sanyo with BQ8030, which is a Sanyo firmware chip (TI merely made the chip hardware, shipped to Sanyo completely blank)...

Re: An important note on the X20 PSU
There is also a similar problem with using the power supply of say a ThinkPad 770 or 600 on a power hungry beast like the A31p or T43p. All of these have the same connectors. And unlike newer Lenovo ones, or Dell chargers, there is no sense pin telling the computer what wattage is available for use....
