Hi,
KBD in my G40 has died (the power button stopped working), so while I am at it, I will try to sort some issues too.
To be precise, i am looking for:
Floppy drive
Keyboard (preferably US, but I don't really care, as long as it works)
DVD Drive
HDD bay cover
Thanks

Re: How much is a W700 worth?
The last thing is to find a working W700 adapter, since I don't have anything to test it out with. You will find that challenging :D Well, the joke is on you, because I found one. 230W and it even came with the docking station. Worth every cent of the 15 eur I paid for it :D . And well, the darn th...

Re: How much is a W700 worth?
Thanks, I just basically needed the final push. I actually ended up buying a "working" X301 and a Z61p too. I paid ~110eur in total, which is pretty nice I guess. The last thing is to find a working W700 adapter, since I don't have anything to test it out with. I will post some photos when they arrive

How much is a W700 worth?
HI, I have an possibility to buy a W700 for a fairly good price of 40 eur, apparently working, but I will ask for some proof later. BUT, from the single photo I have at the moment, it appears that it doesn't have a display and the number pad has a key missing, otherwise, it looks pretty good. Other ...

HDD for 701CS?
Hi, So I just got a 701CS from what is essentially a recycler. The thing (somehow) still works, the display is fine and most importantly, the keyboard mechanism works perfectly. It however came with all of the recycler "features". This means, that I have no HDD, no battery, no dock, no external flop...

Saving a password protected T61p HDD?
Hi, is it possible to save a password protected HDD that came from a dead T61p? I do not know the password and I DO NOT care about the data on the drive. Just want to be able to use the drive in the future. As far as I know, the HDD is working, but it fails to do most I/O operations, like mount to a...

Re: A31p display panel issues
Read my post https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88991 from a few years ago. It'll describe the A31p CCFL-swap and is quite easy (at least for me). Thanks. I've already read it when Ajkula66 posted the tip. As for "brand new" panels, just the shipping would be most likely more than the...

Might as well stock up too.
How much would shipping be for 10 of them?

Re: A31p display panel issues
Thanks for the tips.
Also, a weird thing happened. The backlight on the good notebook failed too
.
Is there a possibility that it's caused by something different? I mean two backlights failed on two different panels within four days?
And how much "runtime" can I expect from the new CCFLs?

Re: A31p display panel issues
Thanks for the quick response.
That looks like a PITA job, but hey, at least I can't break it more
Any idea what are the specs of the tube I need? And a reliable place to buy it?
Also, would it be possible to replace it with someting more reliable, like LEDs?

A31p display panel issues
Long story short, I have three A31Ps. One is pretty much built to my liking (maxed out) and works pretty well. I wanted to put together a second good notebook from the remaining two, but I got some "issues". The build itself went pretty well, everything worked well, but after ~5 minutes, the backlig...

Re: WTB: Parts for 600E and maybe a Thinkpad T20/21/22
I have a T23 in a fairly good shape available. It's not a T20-22, but it's close enough.
It has the 1133MHz P3, 512MB of RAM, 14" 1024x768 display and a keyboard with german layout.
Send me a PM, if you are interested.

I have them, but I think shipping from Europe would be too expensive.
EDIT: Or not. I just checked, and It should fit under ~8$

Re: Known T61p failures?
So, I checked the dates and it looks like I missed it by quite a bit. The GPU is 0749A2, so early december 2007. Also, I noticed, that the power connector is missing. And since it is normally screwed down into the chassis, there is a possibility that someone with "limited knowledge" could have cause...

Known T61p failures?
Hi everyone, So I got a T61p with the WSXGA+ panel in a great visual shape. The insides look very well, almost never used. The motherboard is much worse for wear though. The SMDs handling power look to be thoroughly f*cked , as seen in the photo. Now, since I managed to find the schematics of the bo...
