Hello. I think I've sent a PM but it seems to be stuck in outbox. Not sure if that's expected? I thought I ticked all the boxes for being able to send a PM...

Anyway I've requested x31 recovery, English. If I'm able, R31 and 600E too but don't want to push me luck.

As others have said, thanks for keeping this all alive. Without this community there would be a lot of dead hardware out there

PMs stay in the outbox until the recipient reads them. Since you're a few hours ahead of me, it was sent at 3AM my time so I wasn't likely to see it right away.

Are there any Lenovo ThinkPad X201 recovery discs from your list? I am looking for Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Windows 7 Pro 64-bit recovery discs. And I just signed up already, so I am asking a question only.

There are only 64-bit German there, and all 32-bit versions are there. Actually, I checked the type number and model of this laptop and this laptop was shipped with Windows 7 32-bit. Looks like I will be recovering Windows 7 32-bit on here.

The photo images of the discs show "multilingual" support. Also browsing the contents of the files on the disc, shows that it has English throughout. Infact the very first text file when opened shows the following:
Field Value
0) Name: NA
1) CD#: Disc 1 of 1
2) Date: 09/08/2009
3) CD P/N: 71Y7100
4) OS: Professional
5) Lang: EN
6) FRU#: NA
7) MS Date 2009
8) Type: NA

I expect if I were to examine the contents of the other discs for the 32-bit etc. I would find they were English throughout too.

A review of my Lenovo X201 Win7 Pro 32-bit recovery from Internet Archive:
The recovery works successfully, and after recovery I am able to control everything of which this laptop came shipped factory. :D

This recovery came in multi-languages, so there is an Install Additional Applications icon in my desktop, and Rescue and Recovery came to install additional languages in background.

But there is only one issue:
If I want to restore to factory setup without using discs, you have to press f8 and then choose to repair your computer function. I don't know why, but the repair your computer function doesn't work for this recovery, it either boots to desktop or ends with an error with winload.exe not being found. :|

I will install Windows 7 Pro 64-bit fresh in the X201 and install all the drivers and applications this laptop had in the factory. Now the repair your computer function works, but without Lenovo tools.

Still hoping for Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Windows 7 Pro 64-bit English (1 language) recovery discs in this list, if we got it, then I will reinstall the recovery in the X201. :D

John45357... FYI...

I just finished reloading my x201s with my x220 Win 7 Pro x64 English recovery set...Used a blank Crucial 2Tb SSD...Everything restored almost 100% and gave me a working system, but had to update/download new drivers for video/audio/WIFI from the Forum (all the original drivers worked during the install, but they all had misc. inconsistencies that were corrected with the new drivers..i.e. Display Properties listed as 1440 x 900, but displaying as something else....system is now 100% Factory.)

R&R was installed onto a separate partition at the beginning of the process, and from which the install continued. Win 7 Pro installed and activated
And of course, all the Lenovo programs were installed.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Thanks for the information. I just loaded the T410 recovery disk set in the X201 and it works very perfect & fast using its 128GB SSD in the X201. All drivers installed and no issues, even the repair your computer function works perfect! I will keep this recovery in my X201 :D

I've got a nice ThinkPad 600 that I'd like to get the restore discs for, so I can have all the cool IBM backgrounds and such, plus the "online" manual that shipped with them. For some reason I can't send a DM.

I have a long retired Z60m which I purchased brand new so many years ago. It's actually my first ThinkPad and the only one I purchased new from Lenovo. The Z60m got replaced by a used W510 and the W510 was retired last week and replaced with a used W541. These are my work PC's, and I'm writing this message on a used W520 and there is a used W530 in my daughter's bedroom. Anyways, long story short, for nostalgia's sake I'd like to restore the Z60m back to 'as new' so I'm looking for an XP recovery ISO with all the old ThinkVantage 'bloatware' included. I have read Mr Teminator's requirements at the start of this thread and unfortunately I doubt that I will ever 'tick-off' all three. Are there any other options to source an ISO? I'm more than happy to make a donation in return. Finger's crossed... :)

I got your PM still can't send them (probably have to be a bit more active) but I'd still like the recovery discs for the 600 for windows 98 if possible.
Thanks Grain

Hi! Tomorrow I'm getting my first thinkpad, an A31p. Is there a way to get the recovery without waiting all this time? I wanna get I up and running so I can participate in this forum actively!
Thanks for the precious archiving job you're doing.

I have an A31p and I have restored the original recovery partition using these ISOs https://archive.org/details/ibma31recovert
I believe A31 and A31p are sharing the same recovery CD set.
