For sale are three modified old ThinkPads:

(1) ThinkPad T420s with i7 10510U

Installed an HP ProBook motherboard in the old T420S chassis.

Specs:

i7 10510U/ MX250/ 16G/ 256G SM961 + 1T SATA SSD/ 1080p 14inch/ Camera/ ThinkLight/ NMB Keyboard/ 6cell Battery

Bugs:

Lid sensor doesn't work

Power button and ThinkLight button is on its left side, keyboard combo keys don't work


(2) ThinkPad X41 with i5 6300U

Installed a Panasonic CF-SZ5 motherboard in the old X40 chassis.

Specs:

i5 6300U/ 4G/ 512G SATA SSD/ QXGA 9.7inch/ Chicony Keyboard/ ThinkPlus Battery

Bugs:

Lid sensor doesn't work

No ThinkLight

Power button is on its right side, keyboard combo keys don't work

Turns off when plugged into power; feature of the ThinkLife power bank


These two are very hard to teardown, probably only a good fit for hardcore ThinkPad fans. Maybe this will also inspire some more similar mods as 51nb's no longer selling any new boards after the T700. BTW I also have a T50 just in case if anyone's interested.


(3) ThinkPad X60 with i5 8250U

Installed a 51nb X210 motherboard in the old X60 chassis.

Price: 650 for the X40, 1500 for the T420s, 1500 for the X60. Bargains are welcomed. The shipment cost is 150USD. Ships from China.

Any chance we can get pics of the inside of these things? Absolutely insane builds.

Interesting mods, but personally ( note, this is just a personal opinion ) I would not have used a panasonic let's note to bump up a classic thinkpad.
Again personal opinion, but Let's Note and thoughbooks are on another level ( above ) thinkpads (the only issue they have, is that they can lose the finishing color)
