Battery Capacity Chart - October 2011

#1 Post by dr_st » Sun Nov 20, 2011 2:48 pm

Last month I did a roundup of all the Thinkpad batteries in my possession. The roundup consisted of doing a couple of calibration cycles on the battery. The table below summarizes for each battery the brand, the design capacity, age in months, number of cycles, current full-charge capacity and percentage of current capacity compared to the design.

As you can see, the evidence upholds the common theory of Panasonic vs Sanyo longevity. The lone LGC battery is still very new and it's unclear how it will behave over time.

the LGC battery in my girlfriend's SL410 appears to be holding up well. when it was around 150-170 cycles it started to get some wear (under 1% though). i'll have to check the wear again, but it was over 210 cycles a few weeks ago.

good to see you're still keeping up with this!

edit: here's what it looks like now
Brand LGC
Design 47.52 Wh
Manufacture date 2010-03-11
First use 2010-08
Cycle count 292
Capacity 39.31 Wh

still doing well (feb 7 2012):
Full charge capacity: 42.59 Wh (10.4% wear)
Cycle count: 377
W500 - T9600 | FireGL V5700 | 8GB DDR3 | Momentus XT 500GB | WUXGA | 7 Ult
