Handy Bluetooth mouse for travelling
Handy Bluetooth mouse for travelling
Hi,
a number of people have mentioned wanting to find a good quality Bluetooth mouse that's small for carrying with the laptop. Kensington make two and Amazon stock them both, the
"Kensington Pilotmouse Mini Bluetooth Mouse"
and the
"Kensington PocketMouse Bluetooth Mouse"
The Pocketmouse is slightly more expensive (I don't know why) and is plainer in style - basically it looks like the "Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks" but with BT. I ordered both and then returned the Pilotmouse as I preferred the look and feel of the Pocketmouse. I haven't tested its functionality yet (I am still awaiting delivery of my new BT-enabled T42 2373-3UU) but will post again when I have - especally on the responsiveness issue which a number of people commented on.

I use a ThinkOutside Stowaway BT mouse on the road...it is very tiny but I can tolerate when traveling. In my office I use a MS Intellimouse Experor BT which is full sized and seems to run a pretty long time on one set of batteries. It is too big to carry for me...the TO mouse is perfect and also works with my PDA as well.
I'm also looking at the Kensington PocketMouse Bluetooth Mouse. Does the scroll wheel function (click) as a 3rd button?
For example, I've got all my MS mice setup to open a link in a new tab using Firefox by clicking the scroll wheel down & was wondering if the Kensington mouse would perform in a similiar fashion?

I just got the pilot mouse last week, its pretty nice if just a tad bit small (which of course is sometimes an advantage) but the range is amazing on that thing. I don't know about the battery life yet as I have obviously not run the batts down yet. Anyhow I like it and it works great with the widdcomm stack but I don't know about the MS stack (it should because its HID compliant) Anyhow good mouse, no hub, niceemorphien wrote:I'm thinking about the pilot mouse, but haven't made any decisions yet.

its pricy, but ive felt the corded version of it and it is a nice mouse. im sure the bluetooth one will be just as nice.
