#1 Post by danparkcityut » Sat Apr 02, 2005 7:12 pm

:D

Just curious about this... I finally found this file and am thinking other people might want it. Is anyone here in a position to host it? I can send it along if there is...

That's great that you found it...
Have you tested it yet? I would make sure that it works and post it up for others who need it.

It's the utility that allows you to overcome the limitation of IBM "acceptable" mini-PCI WiFi cards.

Sorry daeojkim,

I have not tested it yet... I'm a little time limited at the moment. If you do a search here for the file, though, you will find there were several people who thought it was pretty cool. Problem is, the references here are always in the form of links. The only (apparantly) viable site the link led me to was down more than up. I was able to catch it at a time when it was up (finally).

My thought here was just to offer to make it more available, but I do not have a server handy.

One problem I found with this file is that it is a ".com" file. There are folks here who have offered it, but could not email it because of the file extension. I could rename it ".con" and have a recipient rename it to ".com"... whatever...

I'd like to help other newbies with this. Many other people have helped me with problems.

I'm just trying to reciprocate with a little help for all those occasions I have found help here...

Dan

ZIP it with PKZip or WinZip. Many systems and some ISPs reject e-mails with *.com or *.exe attachments. This is primarily due to the auto-execute "feature" of Outlaw Exploder. I have encountered this several times when sending a program I had written. The ZIP'd once always got through.

Update: Tested, and working like a charm!

Still available, and I'll ZIP it for whoever wants it...

will a "no-1802"-patched thinkpad still be patched after a bios/embedded controller upgrade?
Thinkpad T40 2373-19U, winXP pro. Added: 256MB RAM, Samsung 80GB HDD. Switched mini-PCI wlan module intel 2100 802.11b to Intel 2915 ABG, with 1802 hack :)

Can I get a copy too? echang2 a(t) yahoo.com. I'm trying to upgrade a X31 to the 2915ABG card and I'm getting the 1802 error. All I need to do is boot the laptop to dos and run the no-1802.com program right? Thanks.

I am disappointed - got the program, run it i dos mode, installed a generic Intel 2000B/G and it just won't run. Laptop booted into XP, happily no 1802 error anymore, I installed the drivers and there I am, a BSOD with" dumping physical memory"...
echang2, I mailed this thing to you - wish you have more success than I had.
