I have the same drive in my T60, and I get the same behavior. Doesn't seem to be anything to worry about . . . heads parking when the drive is idle is my guess.

Yes, that's the perfect way to describe the sound! I am getting that too. It appears to be a characteristic of the Seagate Momentus 7200.1 ST910021AS drives. I also have a Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 HTS721010G9SA00 drive which does not make this noise.vinceg84 wrote:On my T60p, every so often I hear this sound under the right palm rest.
