Does the X60s support 1680x1050 resolution? I'm looking at some external LCD options...

Thanks.

Sounds like very limited success there. I'll stick with the standard driver. :)

Yes, it works fine. I have the dell 20" widescreen. I didn't have to use any software. Althought i can't remember the steps, at first it would only let me do mirror and wierd resolution on my dell screen, then something happens now it allows me to view 1680*1050 perfectly.

Great! It's good to know 1680x1050 is possible with the standard driver. I wasn't thrilled about trying a driver that have caused some machines to not display to the built-in LCD.

In fact, I was looking at getting the 20" Dell widescreen. Thanks for the info.

Well, was it successful? I still can't find any widescreen resolutions although I think it was there for a moment, but then disappeared after I installed the LCD's drivers (ViewSonic)

I also tried the newest drivers from Intel - same results

I'll let you know tomorrow when my new monitor arrives. 8)

My friend who owns an X60s identical to mine said he was able to natively support 1680x1050 on the Dell monitor he has.

Yes, it works in 1680x1050. I just had to install the monitor driver from Dell.
