Been reading the forum and trying for 2 hours to get the factory Bluetooth running on my wife's T520.It IS enabled in the BIOS. FN=F5 makes no difference. Not showing in in device manager, have tried several Lenovo drivers, and Broadcom drivers, tried Windows update drivers, swap the mini card under the palm rest. Custom ROM perhaps? Unknown background, but indicated former government use, perhaps, stickers, unlocked computrace and unlocked passwords are on the machine.
Suggestions?
Ron

If that was a govt. machine, they may have disabled all 'floating contact' points like wifi and BT.
The solution might indeed be to update/replace the BIOS.

WiFi seems to work just fine, The bluetooth has driven me nuts though.
With the Computrace,Passwords and multiple silver foil stickers that have been removed from the bottom, I sort of think Goverment.
Would like to flash it from within windows if possible

Have you tested the Bluetooth module on another Thinkpad? If it works there, then the problem could be in the T520 itself.

If you have one, try an AC-7260 or AX200/AX210 wifi card, they have built-in bluetooth.

Bios had it locked out. Flashed to the latest W8 I could find, and on restart the bezel is screaming with new Bluetooth life!
Thanks All
