Anyways,
I have read this guide and watched this video and this video to make sure I'm doing this mod correctly. I tried several times to solder the appropriate wire required to make this work and sadly it's outside my abilities. I bricked one motherboard after around ten tries and gave up. However, I'd like to ask if anyone has a modded motherboard for sale. I still have a q9100 with the correct pins removed and just require a proper motherboard.

next, i would try wire wrap wire for the jumper on the MB, which insulation might not char, melt and shrink like the jumper in the first video..
and possibly short an adjacent trace..
there IS teflon insulated wire that should not behave badly..
if the MB is not bricked, what i would do is try again..

Fair point and I appreciate the advice on what wire would likely work best. I plan on trying the mod again with this in mind.

But this confuses me. Sage for offtopic but it does seem strange that I chose to lie about my location when I came here with the intention of having something shipped to me. A bit like telling the valet to park my car on the other side of town instead of the lot beside the restaurant.

Google likes to triangulate my cell phone to a town in east Georgia when I’m in greater Boston….

If you put my address into Google, it pops up a bar about a mile from my house, which is of course at the wrong address.

just within 20 miles, please.. MY ip points to a different county..

AND i pay for a static IP for security when logging into this server..
otherwise the IP would change from time to time..

Every day (around 2:30am) my ISP (Vodafone) gives me a different IP and location all over the country.

Just reading this today ... thought I would throw my two cents in about my VPN. When I post here, check e-mail or log into Amazon and such, I always pick Philadelphia for those sessions. I don't have a 'static' IP. It says Philadelphia at the VPN but when I check it at this site: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ ... it always says Scranton, PA.

My VPN has no other PA locations so it's not close to me. It's funny, when I go to Amazon to log in, they always seem to think I'm in the western part of the country ... sometimes they have sent me an e-mail saying someone just logged into my account from Utah or something. I will use any location just to hop around the internet to search and read news ... I guess it all works.

when i order anything from amazon it shows my exact location! yet other times shows savannah which is the home of my cable internet provider..
i only car about location to keep spammers and other bad people out.. if they put new york while the IP shows ukraine or india i just delete or lock that user out..
real locations can show neighbors who, have in the past, had a meet up..
