x230 Right ALT key behavior on Win8/8.1

Hi all,

I recently got an x230i and installed Windows 8 Pro in it. Thing is, until I actually had to use the right ALT key for something, I didn't realize that holding this specific key for more than 1 second causes the Thinkpad to go to sleep - is that the normal behavior for Windows or for the laptop itself somehow? Or could it be a hardware defect?

Thing is, I'm using a US keyboard with a portuguese Win8Pro install and also need to type AltGr characters from time to time, so that became pretty annoying.

I cannot duplicate your finding.
I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 on an X230T tablet/laptop. Holding either right or left alternate key does the same thing. It toggles on and off the File Edit View Favorites Tools Help line on IE 11.
