Installing from Lenovo Vista Upgrade Disk Questions

#1 Post by dfumento » Tue Oct 30, 2007 2:10 pm

I am going to install the Lenovo free upgrade Vista Business 32. I am currently running Vista Ultimate 32 retail.
1. Can the Lenovo disk do a fresh install or only and "upgrade" from the Windows XP Professional.
2. Do I need to have the Lenovo version of Windows XP Professional in order to run the Lenovo MS Vista Business "free upgrade" DVD or will running it from my Vista Ultimate be good enough? TIA David

Yes, I did, but that seemed to be referring to using a standard MS upgrade disk and not the one that Lenovo sent out (with the Thinkvantage software and Lenovo drivers, etc) as the Fullfillment upgrade (certainly the original article was refering to the generic MS upgrade as it shows the MS packaging).

Do those of us with the "fullfillment" upgrade from Lenovo have to go through the install process twice in order to get the clean install? TIA

1. It can do a fresh install.

2. No. Another version of windows is not required.

Question: why would you want to install Vista Business when you already have Ultimate installed :?:
