External monitor control Win7 does not work like in WinXP

#1 Post by haraldnote » Tue Apr 06, 2010 4:58 pm

X41T with external monitor: WinXP controls external monitor with Fn/F7 just fine.
With Win7 same Fn/F7 does not work. How do I control/on/off under Win7?

I found "windows" + "P"
to be the workaround for win7.

I don't have presentation director installed on Win7 in my X200

There are probably different ways to get there, but try a right-click on the display and choose Personalize, then under See also, Display > Connect to a projector.

The Thinkvantage Keyboard Customiser Utility still works under windows 7 and you can use it to map a key to emulate the windows key (typically the right hand side Alt key) - worth trying if you use an external monitor regularly
