hi. don't know if anyone else has had this problem because it is fairly specific, but here goes:
i have my x41 in an x4 dock plugged directly into a router/switch. running windows 7 ultimate. problem is that i am not able to get on the internet through the lan port. windows shows it as installed and working, and it shows me the ip address received from the dhcp of the router, but it just doesn't work.
have been trying to sort it out for some time to no avail.
any help appreciated!
thanks.

x41 broadcom netextreme gigabit problems in win 7
Re: x41 broadcom netextreme gigabit problems in win 7
Clarifications:
Does it work when plugged directly into the Ethernet port on the laptop (not docked)?
Does it work on Wifi?
Can you access the router's setup page?
Can you ping websites? (i.e., type ping google.com from the command prompt)

Re: x41 broadcom netextreme gigabit problems in win 7
doesn't work on the laptop ethernet either.
works on wifi.
can access router at 192.168.1.1.
drops all packets to ping.
as i have looked into it i think it is a wifi driver problem with the router running dd-wrt. it uses madwifi and it should use ath9k.
going to install the most up to date broadcom driver and see if i can make any more sense of it.
