T43 SATA Convertion - Do PATA drives still work in Ultrabay?

If a T43 has the SATA convertion, will any PATA HDD's fitted in an Ultrabay still work considering the SATA /IDE chip will have been removed?

thanks! I thought this was the case but wanted to 100% confirm this.

Now I think about it, it was a bit of a stupid question since if the CD Drive works then Ultrabay HDD's should as well!

The Ultrabay has a PATA connector, which is 'fed' by the Southbridge.

I don't care what they do, I can't vote anyway.
