Re: FS: ThinkPad 240
These are great little machines, somewhat let down by the ultra-common Celeron CPU and the dull, low-res TFT. Has anyone ever either upgraded the CPU or replaced the LCD with something better?

Re: FS: ThinkPad 240
There's an archived Japanese web page that describes an FSB overclock from 66 to 100MHz, boosting a Celeron 300 to 450MHz: https://web.archive.org/web/20050715062 ... pu_450.htm.

Re: FS: ThinkPad 240
I think the top end 240 machines went up to about 500Mhz anyway though...
Re: FS: ThinkPad 240

Re: FS: ThinkPad 240
IIRC the original 240 only got up to 400MHz. It's the subsequent 240X that got a 500MHz Pentium III.

Re: FS: ThinkPad 240
I think the 240Z went up to P-III 600Mhz. Sorry, I thought we were 'counting' all 240 series models...!
